I am a strategic thinker who is interested in social innovation through public communication. As a student, I have developed a well-rounded profile in the public relations field.
In fall of 2015, I was a key contributor on an extensive research report with the goal of increasing student awareness of transitioning marijuana legislation in the state of Oregon. The report identified the most effective and efficient avenues University of Oregon officials should distribute educational information to a population of over 26,000 students. On the project, I coordinated thorough background research determining the most important target audiences for the campaign, conducted primary research through interviewing and surveying, and interpreted data using Qualtrics and Microsoft Excel.
In a media relations course last fall, I developed key messages, wrote press releases, and email pitches to promote and increase student attendance for an upcoming 40th anniversary event for the W.O.W. Hall in Eugene. I distributed the information to local writers and editors at the Emerald and Register-Guard newspapers.
I will earn a bachelor’s of science degree in Public Relations in June 2016.
